Survivors of the X-treme

The dinosaur meet and greet

The Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences is a museum in the Belgian capital of Brussels, dedicated to natural history. It is also one of the major Belgian research centers dedicated to research and public education in the field of natural sciences.

At the moment, it is hosting the exposition ‘Survivors of the X-treme’, an exhibition showing how some animals can survive in the most extreme environments, such as without oxygen, or light, as well as how they can deal with extreme temperatures.

The best thing about this exhibition is that it is very interactive; allowing you to experience or learn about the extreme conditions yourself as you explore the different environments.

You will be able to discover a dark cage, feel the ice cold polar winds or even measure how much water your body contains. The exhibition is guaranteed to provide an afternoon of insight and entertainment whatever your age.

As well as this exhibition, you should also stop by the Dinosaur Hall for some pictures. It is the world’s largest museum hall completely dedicated to dinosaurs.

If you now have a compelling urge to explore and discover something different visit ‘Survivors of the X-treme’ before it finishes on the 30th August 2009.
