They say that Paris is for lovers but I say that it is for music lovers.
They say that Paris is for fashion lovers, I say that without music, fashion loses some of its most daring characters so as fashion lovers, you also become music lovers.
They say that I should head to Paris to Rock en Seine, I say…yes please, I’d love to.
Rock. En. Seine. The best titled music festival in Europe.
A fantastic weekend with great food (tartiflette for me!), a gorgeous quirky wine tent, complete with chandelier, and three stages of excellent music.
Vampire Weekend, MGMT, bands I am desperate to see, but who sell out so quickly, I’ve never succeeded. The feisty Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs! The Klaxons. Sigh! To say this little break would make my summer is no understatement.
I would wash it all down with some excellent wine, some macarons, and dance my little feet off. Pick me! Pick me! I would be so very happy and you won’t regret it ☺
Ps. I intended to finish that with: “Love music, love Paris, love Eurostar”, but I hit submit too soon!
Because I’m working full time and trying to get my MSc dissertation finished and I haven’t had a day of in months! The only “break” I get is listening to music whilst I work, to see some live music would be awesome.
I deserve a festival break because I’ve had a horrible year and I need cheering up. Also, I love Paris, MGMT, Oasis and Vampire Weekend. Nobody would enjoy this more than me!
I don’t think i deserve to win this as much as my best friend does… after dedicating 8 years into a relationship a couple of weeks ago her now ex-boyfriend decided he didn’t want the commitment anymore, tsk pesky men lol!
I have never seen someone handle this situation so well and especially after everything else she has suffered from in the past year and she is looking at all the positives and now how she has all the time in the world to dedicate to herself and doing things she enjoys and her biggest passion is music!
MGMT, Calvin Harris, Vampire Weekend and Oasis are some of her favourite music/bands and i can’t think of anywhere else i would rather spend this weekend than a break in paris with sunshine, music, cider and smiles IMMENSE way to put a smile of my best friends face
I think i deserve to win the Rock on the Seine break as i work practically most weekends of the year and i have my first weekend off since January this weekend! I haven’t been able to go to any festivals this year and i have never been to Paris and looking at this festival it is by far the most fantastic line up i could ask for, along with travel on the Eurostar and accomm – what more could i ask for?!
I think I deserve to win this break because I had really been looking forward to seeing Vampire Weekend, Bloc Party and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Reading Festival and I just found out that the tickets my friend and I purchased were fakes
The line up for Rock en Seine looks even better than the Reading Festival line up so it would definitely make up for not being able to go to Reading anymore!! Plus, I am an avid Oasis fan and have never seen them live before
There was a little girl called Nneoma
And no one could pronounce her name
She needed some cheering up
And read about Rock en Seine.
Une petite pause de la musique could be just what she needs
With fine wine and fine food and some MGMT.
Oh, what a treat for the last weekend of summer
To travel on the Eurostar and party with some hardcore rockers!
I think i deserve to win this break to Rock on the Seine because it would just be the best thing ever ever ever!!. I will admire the views from the train as i pass from the Uk into Paris and rest well in the hotel so i can sing/dance/jump/clap/scream to every possible band i get to see – i won’t miss a thing of this fabulous break in Paris!
I deserve a little chill out time because we have the builders in. We have no kitchen or bathroom at the moment. I am at my wits end and could really do with some sweet sounds and Parisian cuisine, not to mention a bed with crisp “dust free” sheets.
This year I have been 25 years wed
Would be nice to wake up in a Parisien bed
It would a lovely romantic getaway
We could walk along the Eiffel Way (I made that up)
And listen to music the whole weekend
Would just rest and chill out,no postcards to send
We’d eat French cuisine and prob put on some pounds
But it will be worth it to listen to all the great sounds
I’m going to stop now because I’m becoming a bit boring
If I go on much longer you’ll all be snoring
Good luck all
My wife has gone and left me to visit Mickey Mouse
And I’m left here alone in my oh so quiet house
I’d love to see our Calvin now he’s top the album chart
And all the other artists I’m sure will play their part
So Eurostar I beg you before I go insane
Please let me be your winner so I can Rock en Seine

THANKS XXX
Rock en Seine, Rock en Seine
those tickets should be mine.
Let me max out my credit card on festival booze
and expensive French food.
Feet dancing to a crazy jazz beat.
Merci xxxx
I deserve two tickets to Rock en Seine this weekend because I have spent the last year working tirelessly to organise charity fundraising events for students at the University of Bristol. This involved coordinating with volunteers, students, the University, local businesses and local, national and international charities. Despite the very low rate of pay, I worked many more hours than the contracted 10am-4pm, sometimes putting in 18 hour days, several days running, in order to make things work and help raise as much money as possible. We finished the year having raised just under £100,000 for charity, but with me exhausted and in need of a well-deserved rest, but the aforementioned low pay prevents that. My girlfriend also deserves to come with me as she has had to put up with my long hours and high stress levels. Paris, the city of love, romance and exceptional food, wine and culture, would be the perfect reward and antidote for us both. Vive la France!
My wifes been unfaithful the cats got the shits and ime skint!
what more is there to say?
This trip to en Seine would be really insane!
I’d love to win for my Dad, as it’s his birthday this weekend! I’m going up Ben Nevis for charity, so can’t be with him, but I know he’d love it!
Never heard of vampaire weekend, Prodigy MGMT is ok, love calvin harris and i used to like oasis until one of them made some comments about Jay z performing at glastonbury. anyway the real reason i would like to win these tickets is because my girlfriend has been to paris 3 times this year and keeps going on about how great the city is and i think if i dont go with her soon she’s may find herself a super romantic model looking fella.
Would be a great surprise for the gf (and me)! She’s been working too hard all summer writing up her thesis and needs a break! Not had a break either as have been at work doing 9-5s til uni starts again for final year. Never been to a big festival before either, just kept to the gig scene so would be immense to go to Paris for it!! The bank hol weekend’s the only ‘holiday’ we’ll both have off too so need to do something amazing! Would be en seine
to go!! Cheers!
This would be absolutely amazing, i’ve always wanted to go to something like this. Vampire Weekend are such an awesome band, as are MGMT…. it goes on. What a line up!!
WOW fantastic. My cousins wedding is in two weeks and she is stressed to the hilt. Would love to take her away for the weekend for her last weekend and a chance to really let her hair down.
Please let me go!
Well well well.
I’m sad this year – it’s the first summer I’ve had since 2001 sans festival. No Glasto, no Big Chill, not even a day ticket to the sanitised fields of Chelmsford for V Festival. Woe. The closest I’ve come to a live music experience is my boyfriend strumming the plastic controller along to Guitar Hero, wailing in a 70s prog rock stylee. There’s only so much Kansas a girl can take.
Anyway, the reason being, I’ve just quit a dangerously comfortable and well paid job to move to London to attempt to cut it with London’s finest writer types. Turns out it’s quite hard and rather expensive down here. I haven’t had a holiday since February, similarly have no idea how the hell I might afford one within the next four years. More woe.
Take pity on me, dear Eurostar, take me aboard your shiny white carriage, so that I might feel the grass beneath my feet and the bass reverberate through my body once again.
After spending many weekends at home this summer it would be great when my friend asks me if i’m doing anything this weekend and I could answer “Yes i’m going to the Rock en Seine in Paris, want to join me?”
my honeymoon and wedding reception was cancelled due to the bride(me) being taken ill and i’ve still not had a honeymoon. i adore Paris and 1st class Eurostar is the only way to travel to Paris.
Train travel is the finest way to arrive in style, refreshed and exhilerated for the magic that is Paris!!!!!!!

sorry didn’t mean to repeat myself!! Was a bit ‘submit’ happy!
I would like to take my boyfriend to Paris to the Rock en Seine as I believe he is very worthy of this prize!
A year ago, my boyfriend suffered a leg injury which prevented him from taking part in a charity climb up Kilimajaro that summer. He was devastated that he could not go on the trip as he had been planning it for over a year. Despite not being able to go on the trip, he still continued to raise money for the causes and supported the other climbers who were taking part. Then this year, his second planned attempt was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of the tour organisers.
I would love to surprise him with this trip as he is incredibly selfless and wonderful – he is also an Oasis fan- and has been feeling really deflated since all this happened. I would also love to take him to Paris as there is a little question (or a big one) I would love to ask and Paris really would be the perfect city for me to do this. It is after all, the city d’amour.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Paris delights me, Oasis excites me, hope Eurostar invites me.
An Eiffel of Paris without me would be in seine, and with maximum convenience and minimum delay, with Eurostar I’ll travel in comfort all the way.
I feel that I have done Paris a serious injustice in the past. I travelled there, with my first serious girlfriend way back when I had hair in the early 80′s. It wasn’t a relationship that was destined to last, and while in Paris, she was sick everytime we went on the Metro, which was both slighty embarassing and quite messy. Needless to say, the relationship only lasted a few weeks longer than our return, and my memories of Paris were forever tarnished. Now though, I feel that it would be a cathartic exercise if I were to return to Paris (something I have not done in 20 years) and with the aid of sublime music, I could come to terms with my past, and become to love Paris as the city of romance that it is.
I deserve a little music break that will make a big difference to my life because I want to…..
Rock out in Paris
Open my mouth, and sing my heart out
Calvin Harris, Oasis, Prodigy and MGMT
Kool line up is waiting , waiting for me
Eurostar rocks to Paris
N’ will do all the way, from the UK
So let me win
Everyone will know where I have been
I’ll sing my heart out to the very last beat
Not to mention the grooves as a result of my dancing feet
Eternally grateful I will be , so just want to say Merci Merci!!

Music is my gateway to another world, away from the stresses of completing my PhD. A world in which nothing else matters, where a single song can brighten my mood or sweep away my tears. But to combine music with the romantic city of Paris, is the most perfect arrangement.
I love music, and I need the break:
“Ahhhhh, it’s time to relax,
and you know what that means,
a glass of wine, your favourite easy chair,
and of course this compact disc playing and your home stereo.
So go on and indulge yourself,
that’s right, kick off your shoes, put your feet up,
lean back and just enjoy the melodies.
After all, music soothes even the savage beast.” The Offspring, Time to relax.
A little break a big difference away from londons smokey air to the Paris tunes, in the city of love, with the food from heaven.
A world a way from lifting boxes in the office move, instead on one of eurostars super speedy, cool trains, listening to music by the Seine.
I still see it all, Walks along the Seine,
Laughing in the rain, Our last summer,
Memories that remain, We made our way along the river,
And we sat down in the grass by the Eiffel tower,
Like we were dancing our last dance, Round the Notre Dame
Paris restaurants, Our last summer, Morning croissants, Living for the day, Worries far away, Our last summer
We could laugh and play…
Paris in August is magic, Paris in August with Rock en Seine, music and dance, picnics at the quays, sunny parks and moonlit pont des arts, ice cream and pains au chocolat: that I want to see!!! Take us there, magic Eurostar train…
After 11 years in an unhappy, abusive relationship, I finally took the courage to leave my partner and move back to my Mum’s. I have recently met a wonderful man who has swept me off my feet and treated me the way I should be treated. He is returning from working abroad this week and wants to take me away somewhere but if I win this I can surprise him with a wonderful break, with wonderful music in one of the most romantic cities in the world.
Working in central London,
all hot and bothered off the tube,
Seeks walks along the Seine,
Traveling on the cool Eurostar train,
Music in the air,
I can still recall,
Our last summer, 2009,
I still see it all,
Walks along the Seine,
Laughing in the rain.
Our last summer,
Memories that remain,
We made our way along the river,
And we sat down in the grass by the Eiffel tower,
I was so happy we had met,
We took our chance,
Like we were dancing our last dance,
Round the Notre Dame,
Paris restaurants.
Our last summer,
Paris restaurants,
Morning croissants,
Living for the day,
Worries far away,
Our last summer,
We could laugh and play,
And thank Eurostar for our break away..
Je suis un rock star
voulez vous partir with me ?

my alien wife needs enlightenment!!!!!
‘bon’ is my favourite and most used word in my day… It would be fantastic to go somewhere where I wasn’t looked at like a looney bin when saying it lol.
I deserve this I have not one plan for this weekend and I’m sure my ‘bon’ and ‘not bon’ will go down a treat at rock en seine

I’d love the chance to rock n Roll With It at a weekend of great music, Cigarettes and Alcohol! So please let all those parisienne music fans Stand By Me!

I would love the chance to win tickets to Rock En Seine because:
1. I’ve never been to a festival. And, aged 33, I think its about time I did.
2. Winning this break will stop me moaning about the fact that my boyfriend has had to spend all his money on the car, leaving us no holiday funds!
3. Parce-que j’ai oubliee presque tout le francais que j’ai appris en ecole.
3. I love music, I love Paris and I love Eurostar and I would relish every minute!
I would absolutely love a music break this weekend, as I have been having a pretty bad year and hope it can recover. Trying not going for the sympathy vote though, so here is a poem..
Eurostars amazing trains
Fantastic value trips down far away lanes
Memories forever and business brains
Weekends with lovers, family and mates
Rocking out at Rock le Seine
Paris music festival I deserve to obtain
Please pick me, the right choice by far
The perfect cure to fix my broken heart
I ran for charity two months ago round the Emirates stadium and Ive split up with my boyfriend after helping him through a terrible accident and the thanks I got was that has left me in debt… nasty!… I need a trip now more than ever.. I do believe some dancing is in order!!!! I never win anything and love travelling on eurostar. Will cross my fingers x
Heres one for you, just last night I dug my auntie out of a hole and gifted my Loaded in the Park tickets to my teenage cousins. Whining-about-broken-promises-to-mum teenage cousins.
To my credit i’ve managed to maintain a stiff upper lip, but the pain of my loss is a great one. But the idea of showing those Parisian exactly how this festival partying is done excites me. So if you’d be so kind, swoop down like some sort of superhero and save me from a weekend of wii’ing.
Oh and Eurostar is great. Fast and everything. Much better than that ferry nonsense
My daughter should win this break as she has not stopped moaning at me for the last two days for me to enter this competition for her as she is desperate to win this break to Paris and the festival.
I therefore ‘deserve’ a little break this weekend from all her moaning if she doesn’t win so please please give me my ‘break’!!
I am the self- declared “world’s biggest Faith No More fan”! Well, I love them alot at least. The two happiest nights of my life so far were spent with my boyfriend at the gigs in London and Milan this summer- pure joy. We met some of the nicest people in the world and agreed to meet them at the Rock en Seine festival and have another magical night. However me and my boyfriend (another big Faith No More fan) had an argument a few days later and I foolishly split up with him. We never spent another night together again. I would love to win these tickets, take him to Paris, ask him to forgive me and make this break away the happiest weekend of our lives!
