From a dizzying 6.30am, the Master Brewer invites visitors to the annual public brewing session at the Cantillon Brewery in Brussels. Founded in 1900, it has changed little over the years; some of the original beer-making tools are still in use today.
From filtration and hopping to wort-pumping and barrel-cleaning, visitors can experience the various steps needed to concoct Lambic and Gueuze in the traditional way. Guided tours start every two hours from 7am, and free coffee and fresh croissants are offered until 8.30am (you might need them by then).
If you fancy an early start the Public Brewing session is being held on the 7th November 2009.
