Art on the Metro in Brussels

Glenn Gould Portrait Brussels Métro Station 1

Brussels’ metro stations are bursting with art by some of Belgium’s top artists, from Paul Delvaux to Pierre Alechinsky. Held at the STIB Headquarters (public transport authority), metro art memory traces the history and process of these unlikely partnerships.

For a cultural day out when it’s raining outside, and the perfect complement to the exhibition, buy a 24-hour travelcard, which allows you to roam Brussels’ underground network in search of its 80 works of art.

Alternatively if you prefer you can take a 3 hour guided tour hoping on and off at various stations in Brussels underground network and discover how artists have co-operated with the architects responsible for the underground to make the stations original
