ArtisanArt is an exhibition which covers the whole craft industry. As such, it has an enormously broad appeal. Women may not be interested in artisan beers but they can leave their husbands trying the freebies whilst they go and check out the jewelery on offer.
And it is the jewelery which underlines everything which is appealing about ArtisanArt. Because whilst jewelery can be bought the world over, there are few places where you can talk to the actual makers, and most importantly of all, find pieces which are completely unique.
But at ArtisanArt, you can do this. Plus because the exhibitors have made the products themselves, they can educate visitors about crafting their product: from chocolate makers through to silversmiths, all of them are happy to discuss their know-how and techniques with visitors to the exhibition.
A day at ArtisanArt lets you meet the Belgians who actually make the chocolate and as such, it can educate the whole family about the timeless professions of these people – many exhibitors are running business which are hundreds of years old and are still reliant on antique machinery or old family recipes.
Taking place from the 6th to the 8th of October 2009, it has the potential to be a brilliant day out in Brussels. This is very much one all the family can enjoy. So let them…
