If you have been to Brussels previously and have seen the main sights or perhaps during your visit you would like to take in a another culture then the BOZAR’s three month Mexico Festival is an ideal place to add to your trip itinerary.

The centrepiece of BOZAR’s 2010 Mexico Festival is the exhibition “Imágenes del Mexicano“, presenting a series of 150 portraits which illustrate Mexico’s historical and cultural development. The multidisciplinary exhibition includes paintings and photographs by both Mexican and foreign artists.

The exhibition features paintings by Rivera and Kahlo, photographs by Modotti, and even films by Eisenstein. Together, the exhibits document the period of Mexico’s history from the colonial period right up to the present day.

To give you a taste of what you might see here’s a short video by Dafne Cruz Porchini, co-curator of the exhibition, showing some of the most important works in Imágenes del Mexicano.

Taking place from the 11th February till 25th April 2010 you only have a few weeks left to see this fascinating exhibition.
