its gotta be Berlin. well. LOndon will always be first but second place is berlin. It is the european culture (underground and mainstream)> So many things going on, so many cool things going on.
Vienna of course, great culture, great food, great music and great people.
Berlin – no other city has that exciting mixture between Western and Eastern European culture, is so unpretentious and yet so cutting edge that it makes London look backwards at times.
My band would be a homage to the late-great Marc Bolan and Madrid would be the only setting that could play host to our decadent costumes and grand music.
Hi,
The city where everytime I have been there it has always been amazing and everything has gone so right….is Paris…details upon request!!!
London because it’s the most magical city in the world with streets paved with gold plus the river is the perfect setting for late night, post~gig singalongs.
I’d go to San Marino (small country within Italy). One of the smallest countries in the world, and I’m sure no ones really toured there before. Be the biggest show in the country – ever!
Ibiza, Spain, the magical enclave of sun-drenched happiness and light-hearted enjoyment.
Paris, it would be like going home. I lived in the 7ieme arrondissement on rue Charles Floquet right next to the Eiffel Tower for a year 1999-2000 and miss the fantastic night life and ultra cool atmosphere. so much to inspire the musician in you!! The sparkling Eiffel flashing in my window during the new millenium year was an awesome time keeper. When can I go back!!??
No contest – it’s Paris! My band of rockers would play the ultimate venue in the city of music and lights and the fans would roar in awe.
It has to be Paris! Every time you arrive in Paris you immediately feel you are somewhere special. Touring is exhausting, so I imagine being immediately reinvigorated with a stroll and a cafe visit. Also, the crowds and venues are fantastique!
The band would be huge and colourful and made up of all nationalities. The concert would be a riot of noise, colour and laughter with the audience joining in.
The city we’d play in and would tour would be beautiful Cologne, where I used to visit as a child. It has so much to do and o many sights to see, and I’d take my son too to show him the fabulous buildings, river and culture. Of course, we’d all travel there in style and comfort by Eurostar.
Athens, for the view, the history, the culture, and the zeitgeist. I’d want an outdoor venue under the stars. Intimate and magical!
I would stage a concert on a floating stage on Lake Geneva, and finish with fireworks and lanterns over the lake.
Barcelona.
You have two places in one with the beach and the city.
Bustling and beautiful city with loads to do and amazing people
It’s got to be Geneva in the foothills of the Alps cause rock doesn’t get any bigger than Mont Blanc, the biggest ‘rock’ in Western Europe! An outdoor gig, in March, feelin the sun on your face, seeing the snow capped mountains around you and hearing the sound reverb off the peaks for all to enjoy!!
Paris with Madonna
In this story, I’m a DJ playing a series of S/S 2011 weekend shows beside the Jardin des Tuileries fountain in Paris. The kids kick off their chaussures and dance on the grass. The S/S tour continues to a secret gig (my Twitter followers only) at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin before a balmy August night finale outside the Rijksmuseum, I Amsterdam.
Bon chance to my European DJ career xx.
the tour would have to be intresting, no purpose built venues, nothing like that. Car parks, fish and chip shops, outside pubs, in the frozen food sections of supermarkets and on top of national monuments. The tour would be all throughout europe but paying special attention to the entire easten block, particuly is my most famous song is ‘thats the story of stallingrad’ a song done to the music and melody of ring of fire by johnny cash.
I would love to tour Barcelona, a buzzing vibrant city and do a concert on the beach! Wowaweewa!
Paris, of couse, to see my girlfriend !
I would most like to tour AMSTERDAM with my band. And NO not for the coffee shops. It is more intimate than other capitals in Europa.
All the music venues are situated in the middle of the old city centre. This gives the artists a change to explore the beautiful city by foot even though they only have a few hours left before the show. It is one of the only capitals where artists can get a good image of the city in the limit amount of time they have.
Furthermore the people are friendly and they can all speak english. A characteristic of the dutch is that they are ‘very down to earth’ so no crazy screaming stalkers either!
It’s got to be Amsterdam.
Spend the day in the city doing songs on the streets, then head to a backstreet bar for tons of jagermeister, jack daniels and ‘local’ cigarettes then tear it up on stage!! True Libertines Style.
For me it would have to be Madrid, the city is full of live music with a great vibe at night
It would have to be London, I would like to use Greenwich Park and play in the natural amphitheatre created by the hill with the Maritime Museum and College in the background.
Barcelona because it has a very good climate and energy and concert vibes-:)
For me it would have to be playing a gig at sunset in Biarritz on the beach, while the Biarritz surf festival is going on. I’m thinking a chilled acoustic set while the waves lap up the beach. Head over to the casino afterwards for some high rolling and an afterparty in a suite in the palace hotel
AMSTERDAM, because the Dutch are crazy people and they know how to party!
It would be in Italy in Venice in aid of the Venice Fund

I’d like to play in Paris; it’s the city of romance and fashion and chance. It’s far away and different to everywhere else. It’s somewhere I’ve never been; I’ve driven past it and around it on family holidays more times than I can count, but I’ve never had the chance to venture in.
Well I was going to say for the like-nowhere-else buzz it would have to be Ibiza but its been said. So I would have to go for Vienna known for Mozart and Strauss its a landmark city for music!
This is difficult, as I’d love to visit every city in Europe – they all look amazing. However, I’d have to choose Berlin. I’d “tour” the Zoo and have all the bears (brown, panda and polar) lined up in front of the stage to listen to a song that I’ve wrote in my head about the hardships of being a bear in Brasov, Romania.
got to be edinborugh scotland. the Athens of the north, fesival city, steeped with history and legend. Its such a warm friendly city that welcomes new talent. The people of scotland are very friendly nopt to mention the kilts.
Paris, for sure! So much history and cultural richness with wonderful twists of modern chic. All with so much class and delicate romance. A perfect city for a gig, whether it’s by the serenity of the Seine, at the top of the Monmartre steps or the lush grounds of Versailles. I’ve loved all my trips there, whatever time of the year I’ve visited, but I’ve not had the chance to go back there in a very long time so I’d definitely start my band’s tour there before heading to so many other beautiful European cities. And of course I’d ask the amazing Carl Barat to support my band, with some can can dancers from the Moulin Rouge thrown in for extra entertainment.
must be hamburg germany, we would play at the indra club, hey! it worked for the beatles, so why not us.
I would tour Brussels.
It is a city with so many languages and nationalities. In my opinion it is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the EU where everyone just gets on with everyone else. Because the city and it’s inhabitants are so varied, the music scene is too. Every band, whatever style they have, will find an audience in Brussels.
If you can make it in Brussels as a band, it is a good indicator for the rest of Europe.
Furthermore, the food is excellent and I do not need to point out the endless variety in beers.
Plus it is very easy to reach brussels from London
I’d love to tour Paris because it’s one of my favourite cities in the world!
Not to sound like the typical British teenager clichè but I’d most like to ‘tour to’ London. The city of suits, commerce and decadence. Where else would a band be able to pay tribute to ‘Ole Blighty’ and pick up pirated DVDs from a dodgy looking chap in Burberry clad? Or where else would you be forced into paying 8 quid for a double whisky ‘n’ coke by quite frankly uninterested and inexplicably bored looking bar staff? It is also where alot of my favourite bands have spouted from, so it beholds a special resonance for me.
Only in London.
x
I’d love to tour to paris, I’ve never been there, but have heard its beautiful!!
It’s got to be Amsterdam – brilliant place for after parties!!
I think it has to be Paris! Surely there is no city more rock and roll? The chic fashion, amazing wine and spectacular architecture would all perfectly suit a tour to remember.
Plus it has the added bonus of being the only place you can wander the streets and sing ‘I love Paris’ with feeling..
+-
It would be Stockolm. I fell in love with this city. Such lovelee place : green, peaceful. And it is composed by many little islands. It’s like jumping from a world to another. I used to love the hostel that used to be a jail, or the historic huge boat. The crowns a bit anywhere making you remember that is also a royalty place. Can’t be bored in Stockolm.
It’s got to be Amsterdam; it’s a city full of creativity and culture! Like Carl himself we’d play at the amazing “Melkweg” – translated as ‘Milky Way’ given that the venue once operated as a dairy! The rider would consist of Dutch delicacies such as stamppot, herring & onion rolls, and maybe a beer or two!! What better way to get over your hangover the day afetr the gig than a canal cruise followed by a massive plate of Dutch pancakes?! Ahhhhhhhhhh maybe one day
If I were a ROCK STAR in Europe as Carl Barât, I would choose MONTREUX in Switzerland. It’s the BEST European city I would most like to start my ‘tour’ to.
Phil Collins, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix all have been there and for sure I would be honoured to pass in this city of LEGENDS.

It would be Paris. I have had the luck to tour in Paris with some bands I manage and it was fantastic, there are lots of new little rock venues and the French are very into British rock these days,we felt very welcome and had a lot of fun. Thanks Eurostar for making it so easy
I think it would have to be Belfast – Northern Ireland- after so much sorrow and sadness the people there need to be uplifted and a great rock concert would certainly be a good place to start – music always lifts the soul!!
Would have to be Paris, a mixture of small bars (like Bedford Arms) through to underneath Les Arc De Triumph. Lets be honest, if Clarkson and his 2 side kicks can drive through there in cars, I could play the drums there…!!
I would love to take my band on tour to Cannes. Cannes is a jewel in the crown that is the South of France. Cannes is multi cultural, and has a diverse social and cultural background. The people in Cannes seem to have a certain “je ne sais quoi” and everyone seems so sexy! Cannes is the place to be and be seen, and perfect for a band as a venue.
France, Because Carl Barat is a beast and i really want to see him again.
its very great concept dear as i saw your site its really very cool..keep it up
Paris, way not , i would like to Carl Barât live in Paris….
