After reading this post, you’ll have no excuse not to enter our competition for tickets to Bruges, complete with a 48 hour Bruges city card from the Flanders Tourist board!
Even the most popular destinations in the world have people who dislike them – for being too hot or too cold, too busy or too empty, too expensive or too lacking in quality. But Bruges truly is loved by everyone – the mixture of great architecture, interesting things to see, good food and nice beer makes it impossible not to like Bruges.
Another thing to add to that list is the great chocolate in Bruges. There’s the incredible chocolate museum, which we’ve written about in the past – Choco-Story – which is well worth a visit, with its combination of interesting history, chocolate-making exhibition, and (most importantly) the free samples!
But arguably better than this is Bruges’ Choco-Laté exhibition which takes place every November. There’s all manner of quirky things going on – from body-painting with chocolate, where models are decorated to look like tigers or princesses, to chocolate sculptures where chocolate becomes art through the skilled hands of Freddy Dewaele.
And that’s just a taster of what’s on offer – there are also, quite literally tasters from a variety of skilled bakers, chocolatiers, and chefs, as well as workshops so you can learn how to make some of this incredible tasting produce. You’ll come away licking your lips – but also with some inspiration of what to bake throughout the autumn and winter – a win-win situation!
All the best fairytales have a sweet ending – and in the fairytale town of Bruges, it might just come from chocolate.
Don’t forget to enter for a pair of return Eurostar tickets to Bruges in our competition – where the lovely people at the Flanders Tourist Board are throwing in a pair of Bruges City cards!
