Paris is not short of a cultural experience or two, but for something a little different, head down to the 104 cultural institution. The 104 Centquatre artistic complex and collective project has a very varied range of events and exhibitions all throughout the year.
Running to the middle of December (9/12/2011) there is a new, exciting exhibition titled ‘In Perception’. Visitors will experience 6 installations, featuring huge mirrors and all sorts of optical illusions that play with the perception and confuse the brain.
The three talented artist behind the scenes are Leandro Erlich, Ann Veronica and Lawrence Malstaf. Each artist is individually known for pushing the limitations of perception, so are perfect for a project such as this. Some may remember Leandro’s incredible instillation where a swimming pool was covered with a clear screen, allowing visitors to walk both on top and underneath the water’s surface – each seeing the world from a different view point. Each of the artists has created 2 pieces specifically for the exhibition, all on a human scale, which become physical experiences challenging both the mind and the senses.
