Main Square Festival Competition Terms & Conditions


  1. By entering this Prize Draw, the entrant is deemed to have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions and agreed to be bound by them.
  2. Entrants must be 18 or over and must be UK residents.
  3. Entry for this Prize Draw is free and will be made automatically upon the submission of the following:
    (a) A response in the comments section of the blog post for the Main Square Festival on the website http://www.europe.eurostar.com/ (“Blog Entry”); or
    (b) By “re-tweeting” the tweet from @EurostarUK on the Twitter website (“Tweet Entry”).
  4. Entries are open from Wednesday 15th June 2011 and all entries must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 21st June 2011
  5. One Prize Winner from the entries made as a Blog Entry will be chosen by Eurostar or its agent on Thursday, 23 June 2011 on the basis of the following criteria with equal weight being given to each criterion:
    (1) Originality;
    (2) Creativity; and
    (3) Quirkiness.
  6. One Prize Winner from the entries made as a Tweet Entry will be chosen at random by Eurostar on Thursday, 23 June 2011 (“the Tweet Prize”).
    The Blog Prize consists of two (2) Eurostar Standard Class return tickets to Lille from London St Pancras International station departing at 12:58pm on Thursday, 30 June 2011 and returning at 15:05pm on Monday, 4 July 2011, together with two entry passes to the Main Square Festival 2011 (Friday 1st July 2011 – Sunday 3rd July 2011) with access to the festival’s campsite from Thursday 30th June 2011.
  7. The Tweet Prize consists of two (2) Eurostar Standard Class return tickets to Lille from London St Pancras International station departing at 12:58pm on Thursday, 30 June 2011 and returning at 15:05pm on Monday, 4 July 2011, together with two entry passes to the Main Square Festival 2011 (Friday 1st July 2011 – Sunday 3rd July 2011) with access to the festival’s campsite from Thursday 30th June 2011.
  8. The Prize Winner of the Blog Prize will be notified by email to the email address provided with the Blog Entry within three business days of being selected as the Prize Winner by Eurostar.
  9. The Prize Winner for the Tweet Prize will be notified by Direct Message from @EurostarUK on the Twitter website within 3 business days of the draw. In order to receive the Direct Message, the Prize Winner must be following the @EurostarUK on the Twitter website.
  10. Winners must confirm acceptance of their prize within 24 hours of being contacted by Eurostar or their prize will be forfeited and Eurostar shall be entitled to select a new Prize Winner.
  11. The Prizes are only valid on dates and times specified in these Terms and Conditions and winning entrants must arrive at their departure station at least 30 minutes prior to their departure time.
  12. No alterations, exchanges or refunds of the Prizes or elements of the Prizes won in this Prize Draw will be permitted.
  13. The Prizes do not include travel to and from St Pancras International or travel between Lille and Arras (details on how to book this leg of the journey will be provided) and it is the responsibility of the winning entrant to ensure they board the designated trains on time. The Prizes do not include any incidentals including, but not limited to, meals (except as provided for in these Terms and Conditions), drinks, mini-bars, telephone calls, travel insurance and transport costs.
  14. The Prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Previous bookings made prior to and, for travel during the validity of, these Prizes cannot be exchanged or refunded for any ticket acquired in accordance with this Prize Draw.
  15. The winner and their chosen companion must comply with all relevant customs, security and immigration requirements, including appropriate passport and visa requirements. Eurostar will not be responsible for any passenger’s failure to comply with these requirements. The winner is strongly advised to take out adequate levels of travel insurance.
  16. Eurostar reserves the right to refuse to honour any entry if it considers there has been an abuse of this Prize Draw or a breach of the Terms and Conditions of this Prize Draw
  17. Eurostar shall not be responsible for any direct, indirect, special or consequential damages or losses suffered by the prize winner or a third party arising from the Prizes
  18. Eurostar’s decision is final on any situation including any not covered in these Terms and Conditions and Eurostar will not enter into any correspondence concerning any decisions made.
  19. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts shall apply.
